RETRO69 AND EMPLOYEES OF ASCAP TO HOST A WOODSTOCK 1969 TRIBUTE CONCERT TO BENEFIT “REACH OUT FOR YOUTH (ROFY), AN ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1979 TO HELP CHILDREN WITH CROHN'S DISEASE, ULCERATIVE COLITIS AND OTHER GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASES.

New York, NY, January 31, 2008: On March 13, 2008 Retro69 will host a Woodstock 1969 tribute concert to benefit Reach Out For Youth (ROFY).  ROFY was founded in 1979 to help children with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. They provide a hand to hold, a shoulder to lean on, and the voices of experience from those who have raised children with Crohn's and related diseases and know how important support and education is for the child and the family.

Living with IBD can be difficult at times. Reach Out for Youth offers families the opportunity to call at any time to discuss their concerns. They are happy to schedule an experienced visitor to provide support during hospital stays; office visits, testing, during treatments, etc. You can contact them by calling 631-293-3102 or click here to send an email to info@reachoutforyouth.org. They are here for your child, for your family, for you. ROFY is a 503(c) not for profit organization that depends upon the generosity of donors to fund research, conduct educational programs, and provide emotional support for children and families affected by IBD.

The concert will closely follow the songs and actual set list order of the bands that performed at the August 1969 Woodstock event. Some of the artists to be covered at the event include John Sebastian, Sweetwater, Bert Sommer, Tim Harden, Quill, Santana, Mountain, Janis Joplin, Sly and the Family Stone, Grateful Dead, CCR, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Country Joe and the Fish,
Ten Years After, CSNY, The Band, Johnny Winter, Paul Butterfield, and Jimi Hendrix. The music will run non-stop from 6:00 to 11:00 and include artists such as Eddie Kaercher;  Jimmy Kunes of Cactus and Savoy Brown, and Helen Hooke of Deadly Nightshade, Allan Spielman, Julio Virella, and Stephanie Geber,  among others. We are pleased to feature a horn section comprised of players such as Richard Fairfax and Michael Cohen (Sax) , Mike Cobrin (Trumpet) , and Sandro Comini (Trombone). The performers will be backed by a house band comprised of employees of A.S.C.A.P. Rounding out the bill will be several other 1960s era tribute bands.

The Benefit will take place on March 13, 2008 at The Triad located at 158 West 72nd Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West. There is a $10 minimum donation.
