About Rick Walsh Scholarship Foundation
On June 12, 2005, Rick Walsh was killed in a tragic explosion of a gas taker on Sunrise highway, when an eastbound tanker carrying 10,000 gallons of heating oil rammed into backed-up traffic, spurring a chain reaction that involved at least a dozen vehicles and causing a series of rapid explosions near Route 231 in North Babylon. Three others were killed in this devastating accident.  A  fund had been set up to assist Rick’s family  with future education expenses and help to pay for their day to day living expenses.
