4th WOODSTOCK 69/ Sunset
Grill

February 4, 2006 RETRO
69 (formerly
known as the Bluewaves) held their 4th
WOODSTOCK 69 / Monterey Pop Tribute Festival benefit
on behalf of Association
of Children with Downs Syndrome (ACDS). The event was
held at the Sunset Grill in Seaford, Long Island, running from
9PM till 3AM, and l featured 13 bands performing six hours of
continuous live music by groups that performed at the WOODSTOCK
69 or Monterey Pop 67 Festivals.
Performers:
Eddie Kaecher, as well as Earl Shelton, Tenor Saxophonist of the Temptations, Ben E King, and the Fatback Band, sat in with Retro 69. Money raised at the show will go towards one of ACDS many vital projects. There was a $5 cover charge, as well as a suggested donation at the door. There was a 50 – 50 raffle. Long Island's leading service provider for children and adults with
Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities, ACDS provides a
continuum of year-round programs and services that include diagnostic
evaluations and treatment, early intervention, day care/ nursery,
preschool, special education and clinical services for children, from
infancy to age 5; individualized residential services (IRA) for
adults, age 21 and over; and evening and weekend recreation and
socialization services for children, age 5 and over. The agency also
provides nursery/day care programs in an integrated setting, with
typically developing children.
